Massage For every body
Picture
Funded by the Network of Wellbeing, our Massage for Every Body project aims to make massage more accessible to disadvantaged groups.
We are looking to work in partnership with organisations local to Totnes and its parishes to deliver educational talks about massage and its impacts, and to provide a free trial massage to people who are open to trying this as a new way to support their wellbeing.

Massage can help wellbeing both physically and emotionally. This could be to reduce pain, relieve stress and tension, create a trusting relationship with someone, to feel connected by touch, to feel reconnected to one’s own body, to receive care and attention, and to take needed time out. By informing people about, and reducing barriers to massage, we hope to increase confidence to try it as a technique to help wellbeing. It is also a technique people can use on themselves to a degree, if they find it useful. In addition, sports massage has a focus on posture and can leave people with stretches and lifestyle adaptations they can implement to help themselves.
We are specifically looking to work with organisations supporting the following groups:
  • LGBT+
  • Those who've experienced Domestic Abuse
  • Carers
  • Those from a Black or Minority Ethnic background

If your organisation would be interested in hosting an educational talk and taster massages, please contact us.
